Why am I seeking election to our new Local Authority?

I believe I do a good job, I wish to continue to serve my community and follow through on uncompleted issues. I believe I directly reflect what concerns people and I act accordingly. This is not allowed by political party rules. I will bring experiences, strengths and accrued knowledge to the new Council. Over the past 5 years I have been effective in the following appointments and positions of trust.

Elected member Kildare County Council and Naas Town Council.
Mayor-Chairman of Naas Town Council in 2010/11, 2008/09 and 1999/2000
Director of County Kildare Leader Partnership, Social Inclusion and Rural Development Committees.
Director of Kildare County Childcare Committee
Member of Kildare County Council Finance Committee, Community and Culture Policy Committee, Kildare Heritage Committee, Kildare Monuments and Archaeological sub Committee
Member of new Kildare County Council Sustainable Energy Planning Committee
Executive member of Association of Municipal Authorities of Ireland (AMAI)
Member of Naas Town Council Christmas Promotion Committee, Protocol Committee, Joint Policing Committee, Environmental Committee

At local level in Naas Town, I am strongly involved as a Community Activist.

Chairman Naas Tidy Towns Committee (National Silver Medal Winners 2013-12-11-10)

President of Naas United F.C. (Club of the Year, Senior + Under age Champions 2012)

Founder member of Naas Community Men’s Sheds (April 2014)

Member of Naas Local History Group and Craddockstown Golf Club.

Leader of TUS Tidy Towns Support Group

I have retired from long careers at the top levels of General Business Management and as a Regimental Commander and Officer with The Reserve Defence Forces.

With my wife Agnes, we share the blessings of five children and eleven grandchildren.

I have no hesitation in identifying my dedication as a full time 24/7 public representative, alongside an unmatched community commitment, supported by a wide range of successful leadership and management experiences.

On 23rd May, please come out and vote to show you care about Local Government.
